Functions of the Pastoral Committee
- To advise the governors on statutory responsibilities on pastoral care and deal with complaints from parents.
- To provide information to the Governing Body about how pastoral care is managed.
- To support staff with pastoral responsibilities.
- To review policies affecting the Pastoral Curriculum and pastoral care issues.
- To participate in whole-school development planning, monitoring and evaluation with particular reference to pastoral issues.
- To agree Job Descriptions, Person Specifications and Selection Procedures for appointment of pastoral staff. Pastoral staff appointments will normally include at least one member of this committee.
In all of the above, the committee shall have the delegated power to make decisions within agreed limitations, except where statutory requirements necessitate the support of the full Governing Body.

- policy on harrassment and bullying and racial abuse
