Our aim "to engage and enthuse"

Our Ethos:

Science is exciting. It enables students to explain how the world works. We aim to make Science stimulating and challenging, harnessing the talents of all our learners.

Our Courses:

In years 7, 8 and 9 all students follow a course that follows the Key Stage 3 National Curriculum. Some students in year 9 will start their GCSE course early, and will go on to study 3 sciences to GCSE level.

The majority of students will study Double Award Science to GCSE level.

In years 12 and 13 we offer AS and A2 levels in Biology, Chemistry and Physics.

What makes us a Science College?

We develop very strong links with our local community, for example, we have taken groups of students and parents to the nearby world famous Jodrell Bank for lectures, and had students doing research there as part of their A level studies. We develop training for the primary partner school teachers, and offer events for primary students (see "Events" section). We enhance the learning of all our students by being at the forefront of new developments in Science Education, including the Lead Teacher project, Salters Chemistry Groups, writing materials for new courses and linking with schools in Africa.
