Enrichment
Every other Wednesday afternoon the whole of the Sixth Form are timetabled for Enrichment from 1.10 until 3.30pm. There are also five full Enrichment days throughout the year.
Enrichment seeks to expand students’ knowledge and experiences to make for a better-rounded individual. In addition it will also provide more to write about on job applications/ personal statements and more to talk about in interviews.
Sixth Form Enrichment is constantly being reviewed and improved following student feedback. It currently includes:
- Team building
- Work Experience placements
- Primary Placements including students studying Maths and Modern Foreign Languages
- A fun Christmas event
- Excursions (inc. dry ski slope, theatre, cinema, bowling, archery)
- Organised debates
- Visiting speakers & Theatre Groups (e.g. Drive Alive)
- Community Sports Leader Award
- Sixth Form sports teams (inc. fixtures with local colleges)
- Guidance with university and employment applications
- Life skills (basic survival skills when leaving home)
- First Aid courses with external certification
- Management and assertiveness training
- Personal Health Issues
- Learning Mentoring
- Preparation for the General Studies Exam
- Sixth Form Student Leadership work
- Events Management
- Dance Leaders Award (internally verified)
- Philosophical debates with visiting speakers
- Critical Thinking AS
- Extended Project (externally verified with UCAS points)
- Outdoor Pursuits
